Accountability is an essential component of the Educational Technology Plan for Virginia: 2003-2009 and the federally supported Enhancing Education through Technology (Ed Tech) program. Both require processes and accountability measures to verify the quality and impact of implementation.

To assist schools, divisions, and consortia in meeting these requirements, the Office of Educational Technology (OET) has developed a Web-based reporting system to facilitate the collection, analysis, and use of data for program improvement and reporting. The system provides for easy, accurate, and consistent data collection while lessening the burden on local education agencies. It also will help OET

• better understand the collective efforts of schools, divisions, and consortia across the commonwealth;
• measure progress toward meeting the goals of the state technology plan and Ed Tech program;
• provide improved technical assistance, training, and support services to schools.
